I was going to post something different but stopped because it’s a work-in-progress activity. I am planning to do a performance ‘live’ – yikes! But I will tell you about it, when it’s really happening.
Instead, I have taken a look back to 12 months ago. February 2014 was a strange time. I had lost a good friend to a sudden illness, I had taken a year off work and was starting on my Going to be a Writer Someday – project.
When I began, I started a Writer’s List where I record my achievements. It reminds me of what I have done when I feel like I am treading water.
Here’s a few excerpts:
- published an eBook 🙂
- sold an eBook 🙂 🙂
- got 4 star reviews for one of my eBook 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
- someone liked my Blog Post ~~ !!!!
- completed a Creative Writing course A+
- a blog of a poem was re-blogged / lovely warm glow.…
I realised that as much as I do want to make money from my writing and use this as a career, the real happy emotions come from much simpler things. Someone reading my work, someone making a comment/like – those are things to be valued.
So, if you are feeling a bit stale – think very carefully about what’s important. Is it really the money? Maybe the joy is in a simpler form.
// the 4 star reviews are for my eBook: Towards the Stars and were not purchased/bribed or dishonestly added 😕
